Confused about how to start?

March has come and gone quick!

Nothing feels quite as satisfying as coming home to a house that is so clean it basically shines with sparkles. Spring cleaning is a ritual done between the months of March and April. Whether the sun shines or the rain pours to bring us May Flowers, nothing beats a clean home.

However, sometimes cleaning your house top to bottom can be overwhelming. We understand. It can be tiring and time consuming and, not to mention, messy!

But before you even get to work, make sure you have all the cleaning supplies that you need, to remove stains, shine the floors and vacuum dust and so much more. With that alone, the motivation is higher to get the job done.

Approaching your house room by room is the most effective way to deep clean it. Create cleaning checklists for each room to help you get organized and to remind you of the areas that need extra attention. Focus on the parts of your home that were largely neglected over the winter. One of the biggest parts of spring cleaning is often getting rid of clutter. Organize and decide, with your checklist, what you want to declutter and remove from the space. Identify problem areas, analyze the clutter, determine solutions, and implement them. Move the clutter out as soon as possible, whether it's bringing a donation box to a charity or planning a yard sale.

Once you’ve cleared out the clutter, give your home some much-needed care.

Empty your kitchen fridge and thoroughly clean it.
Sweep under your large appliances, like the stove and the fridge, and larger furniture pieces, like dressers, desks, and the beds.
Wash the windows, both inside and out.
Clean blinds and take any curtains or drapes to the cleaners.
Flip your mattress. Don’t just clean your sheets; wash your pillows and mattress covers as well.
Clean your upholstery, or hire a professional to do it.

If it’s warm enough, open the windows, and let the fresh air in as you freshen up your home. When your work is done, not only will the sun be shining your house will too. Happy cleaning!
