Some More Cleaning Hacks

The thing with cleaning hacks is that sometimes they … just aren’t. Meaning, they either don’t actually work at all or they leave you with a bigger mess than you started with. Not ideal! Because if you’re going to spend time cleaning your house, you actually want to have something to show for your efforts, right!? We haven’t spoken about cleaning hacks in a while, so here it goes!

Doormats are your best friend when it comes to trapping dirt, so make sure you have two—one outside the house and one inside. This cleaning hack is especially helpful in the winter when you have salty and snowy boots going in and out of the house. Just be sure to clean the mats regularly as dirty mats contribute to the mess.

As much as we love our four-legged friends, pet hair can accumulate quickly. Skip spending extra money on tools and special attachments and use this simple hack to clean up after your fur babies. Simply wear rubber household gloves and run them over the surface of your furniture. The rubber will cause the pet fur to gather into a ball that can be easily thrown away.

Wine is known to be one of the toughest stains to remove. Luckily, club soda can be a saving grace. Start by spritzing the stain with club soda. Next, simply blot the wine, juice, or colored drink stain with a microfiber cloth. Repeat until the stain is gone.

If you swish your toilet every day with your brush, you’ll keep it relatively clean without a ton of hard labor. Use the water already in the toilet to swish the entire toilet bowl. Your bathroom probably gets dirtiest the fastest and is the hardest to clean.

Want to know the secret to streak-free mirrors and windows? Well, it’s an easy at-home solution you can make yourself. All you really need is:
1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
3 drops peppermint essential oil
1 1/2 tablespoons rubbing alcohol
